In the mid-1950s was begun construction of the first plant of Huila and originated in valencia Peace Iquira town of Huila on the site that we know today as Bocatoma located approximately one mile valence Peace and the Iquira river. Structure is commonly known as intake system wherein a dam formed by a channel containing a sand trap, which is divided into three channels by about seven meters to be reunited into one and then driving said water is is going through land of the municipalities of Iquira and Teruel to the place called home machines where the turbines generating electricity. Since the establishment of this hydroelectric, Iquira is city belonged light of Huila.

Where it divides into three channels, its depth is about two meters. People take advantage of this and bathe there. Although this site is prohibited bathing due to accidents in the past,at people do not mind this. This is a very important place in our town since this provides electricity and water.
