It is located north of the municipal territory border with the town of Teruel and the department of Cauca, in the jurisdiction of Narvaez, Zaragoza, Nazareth, El Rosario and Lejanías paths, it has an approximate area of 11,478 hectares. Flags Alto Municipal Forest Reserve, occupies the central part of the territory taking the edge of Banderas from Tarpeya Forest Reserve south to the buffer zone of the Nevado del Huila National Park to the north; another portion corresponding to the recharge zones of streams duck, partridge and Carmen territory.
